4+ Month Consulting Engagement
We have a new job opening for a Business Analyst. The Business Analyst serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements are defined and clarified. They are the liaison between our clients and development teams, and are responsible for driving the identification, specification, and successful delivery of solutions that leverage our capabilities to support and grow our Clients' business. The successful candidate will be skilled in gathering requirements and translating them into excellent user stories!
o Ability to understand customer marketing data and understand the flow of data from source to use in marketing and advertising applications/platforms.
o Create documentation of data files and fields capturing business and technical rules for data process.
o Crete and manage user acceptance testing plans, test data, and test scripts.
o Ability to use SQL for basic data analysis.
o Experience with Unica, Adobe, and other CRM solutions a plus.
o Experience with complex customer marketing database solutions.
o Take charge attitude with appropriate business acumen to ensure meetings, requirements sessions, design sessions stay on track and focused.
o Ability to play a project coordinator role when needed to ensure project continues to move forward.
o Ability to ask detailed questions and not be pensive when researching concepts, questions, and teasing out the details of requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Lead solution analysis, definition, and acceptance in application development lifecycle (including technology possibilities and limitations).
o Gather, interpret, and translate customer needs into functional and nonfunctional requirements - translate business problems into requirements that facilitate application development through client interviews, internal interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
o Understand system behavior, inputs, and outputs as they relate to business functions.
o Facilitates meetings of stakeholders to elicit requirements and detail business constraints; constructs strawman flows from client input; incorporates feedback from review sessions into amended deliverables.
o The Business Analyst will document and analyze requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications.
o Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
o Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the project artifacts.
o Successfully engage in multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously.
o Collaborate with architects to translate the detailed requirements into design deliverables. Review design deliverables with architects upon completion.
o Work with clients to determine appropriate Test Case Scenarios for User Acceptance Testing based upon the agreed upon requirements.
o Review Change Control requests to ensure alignment with the agreed upon requirements.
o 3-5 years' experience as a Business Analyst.
o Solid experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio).
o Advanced experience with SQL including queries, joins, where clause, etc. - required.
o Proven experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) - required.
o Experience working in Agile environments.
o Proven experience gathering requirements and translating them to excellent user stories.
o Experience with SQuirrel SQL as Hive client - BIG PLUS!
o CSM certification - preferred
o Familiarity with business concepts, quality assurance concepts and procedures, development process, prototyping procedures, software life cycle activities, techniques for requirements gathering.
o Experience in a customer-facing role.
o Experience with analyzing data and databases and ability to write a SQL for research purposes
o Database concepts including tables, data types, instances, fields, connection strings, keys, and records.
o Strong understanding of marketing concepts, including multi-channel and digital marketing.
o Ability to manage multiple activities in a deadline-oriented environment; highly organized and flexible.
o Ability to explore, analyze and utilize various software platforms from an end user perspective.
o Experience in analysis, basic statistical analysis.
o Experienced developing functional and non-functional requirements.
o Experienced working closely with team members during development and product launch.
o Bachelor's level degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field.
