Data Warehouse Developer
Location: Richardson, TX

We have an exciting new job opening for a Data Warehouse Developer. There is a high probability of this going long-term if all goes well. The Data Warehouse Developer creates database structures on medium to large projects, provides support in the day to day operational management of Database Technologies and aids in software maintenance lifecycle management. Analyzes, consults and recommends different options for database performance tuning, database configuration implementation, creates and maintains scripts and test plan execution. Participates in Enterprise incident, change and problem management activities. Designs, documents, provides guidance, and supports database infrastructure solutions to fulfill business or technology requirements. This role will report into the Development organization.

o Partner with project teams and interact with customers to find solutions for projects and operational issues for existing and proposed databases.
o Act as a liaison and serving as a primary point of contact between application development and database administration.
o Proactively identity performance issues within the database environments and develop solutions for remediation.
o Participates in the creation of physical data models by gathering requirements and working with application architects. Converts logical data models into physical data models and generates DDL for implementation.
o Provides primary application database maintenance and support including creation/execution of DDL/DML, supporting application releases, and overall database expertise for highly complex applications with some guidance from DBA and Architect Technical leads.
o Monitors, analyzes, consults and recommends different options for database performance tuning, database configuration implementation and collaborates with vendors and subject matter experts on complex incidents
o Engages and manages incidents by collaborating with application areas, IS partners and vendors by providing detailed documentation on initial failure, restoration activity, and impact analysis.
o Identifies bugs and patches related to issues/incidents, works with database vendor support for patch validation. Creates rollout plan for permanent problem resolution.
o Proactively identifies underlying problem areas and escalates with appropriate diagnostic details and analysis. Assists in driving root cause analysis on complex incidents. Utilizes Problem Management processes and procedures to document and highlight issues and areas of concern.
o Supports proactive definition and installation of alerts and monitors for database performance and availability. Identifies and participates in problem management related to incidents.
o Understands, maintains, documents and executes database availability software options based on Solution architecture requirements. Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems with different availability options.
o Creates and/or modifies jobs for various utilities and provide database services and conducts periodic certification of back-up and recovery processes and verifies alignment with Business Resumption strategy.
o Reviews and follows architecture and enterprise database standards and partners with other groups to interpret and implement architecture and enterprise standards.

o 5+ years of experience in database management, including the functions of testing, development, scripting, and configuration of custom data warehouse databases.
o 5+ years of experience with managing complex project work and proactively implementing automation.
o Proven understanding of multiple DBMS', but primary responsibilities will be on Oracle RDBMS 11g/12c.
o Experience working on large scale, data warehouse applications deployed on Exadata hardware.
o Experience working on Exadata platforms including Exadata specific tuning to gain optimum performance.
o Proven track record of identifying and remediating performance issues within complex data warehouse environments.
o Experience in defining, implementing, and operating performance monitoring tools in order to provide proactive alerts to identity performance degradations before they become problematic.
o Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience.
o Ability to exhibit client service approach with results-driven performance.
o Excellent verbal and written communication (verbal and written).
