Java Mobile Engineer
Location: Memphis, TN
6+ Month Contract

Immediate new job opening for a Java Mobile Engineer to join our team and work onsite at our global client in Memphis, TN. We are looking for a developer to be a part of the self-managing Agile Team, focused on coding the solutions needed to create, maintain, fix, or enhance our products. As the Engineer, you will participate in the design and architecture of targeted capabilities and solution architectures, perform the hands-on development work to write the code, and lead the effort to deliver the specified capability assigned to them. You will also mentor more junior developers, assisting both with the onboarding and ramp-up of new resources, as well as providing day-to-day knowledge transfer and support to their more junior peers. We expect this person to demonstrate expertise in Java, Spring framework, NoSQL DB (Couchbase preferred), Restful API development, in an Agile environment (Kanban or Scrum).

Responsibilities:
o Follow product design to perform development tasks to build/deliver the product increment
o Follow requirements when developing a solution that helps to meet the 'definition of done' for a particular User Story or break/fix
o Code/configure quality solutions that require limited rework and meet business/end-user needs
o Develop and integrate software as main responsibility
o Support Core Agile Team activities, such as helping to maintain the sprint back log, and participating in backlog refinement, sprint planning and sprint
o Support the estimation of backlog items
o Provide production support by solving Incidents/Problems and participates in regular improvement efforts
o Deliver maintenance and improvements for existing software or packaged applications
o Adhere to coding standards/procedures and participate in code reviews
o Ensure that all solution development is aligned to architectural standards throughout the Agile development process
o Assist Tester in crafting and ensuring overall integrity of the test plan
o Applies software development knowledge to the current IT environment
o Agile problem-solving techniques and decision-making principles
o Proficiency with organizing complex ideas and information, both written and verbal
o Makes decisions based on analysis of abstract ideas
o Ability to partner and build meaningful relationships in a dynamic environment
o Proficiency with working with multi-functional teams

Qualifications:
o Bachelor's Degree OR Associate's Degree plus six years of technology related experience
o Two years of professional software development experience
o Advanced experience with applicable development languages, such as iOS/Android, Java, HTML, XML
o Demonstrated proficiency with 'as a service' platforms or relevant hosting environments
o Agile software development and relevant processes
o Current code repositories utilized by organization
