Network Security Engineer

Dallas, Texas with Remote option

IMMEDIATE new opening for a Network Security Engineer to join our team and work on-site at our client's global HQ's based out of Dallas, Texas. Remote work is an option for the right candidate. This position will perform a combination of network security design and analysis work, as well as security testing of new products or enhancements to current products. The role will involve working a on a broad array of projects that pertain to various aspects of networking and security. A key responsibility entails the support of the production environment to ensure that the appropriate security policies and practices are implemented and enforced. In addition, this position will provide a technical resource for the introduction of new security products and services.

o Design, configure, implement and maintain all security platforms and their associated software, such as routers, switches, firewalls, intrusion detection/intrusion prevention, anti-virus, cryptography systems, SIEM, Anti-SPAM, MDM, etc.
o Design, review and ongoing assessment of firewall, intrusion detection/intrusion prevention, SIEM, VPN, SSL, application control, Antivirus, and other network component policies.
o Daily triage, and update/resolution of issues that pertain to the security of the network.
o Ensure network security best practices are implemented through auditing: router, switch, firewall configurations, change control, and monitoring.
o Assist in various efforts that relate to PCI auditing, and help guide remediation projects
o Formulate systems, methodologies, and responses to security related efforts and events
o Coordinate, and monitor the analysis of findings from managed security services
o Ensure customer policy and security requirements are met.
o Follow project management methodology and demonstrate best-practices in network documentation as required
o Manage all client situations in a professional and courteous business manner with an emphasis on customer satisfaction, while timely keeping the customer abreast of expectations, problem status and completion.
o Liaise between product management, engineering and other departments on security related items.
o Working with network security developers on security tool development and enhancements.
o Collaboration with vendor and other support teams for knowledge learning.
o Sifting through firewall rules to look for optimization areas
o Usage of tools such as Algosec and Splunk to pull reports and create granular rulesets.
o Advanced-level work involving network and security infrastructure

Required Skills:
o Knowledge of security network devices (firewalls, switches, SIEM, Antivirus, cryptography, etc.) and other security networking hardware/software tools.
o Demonstrated understanding of information security concepts, standards, practices, including but not limited to firewalls, intrusion prevention and detection, TCP/IP and related protocols, device monitoring and log management and event monitoring/reporting
o Experience in LAN and WAN technologies, network design, network management etc.
o Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, access control lists, firewalls, VPN, NAT and network traffic analysis.
o Strong organizational skill and be able to attend to and prioritize projects.
o Demonstrable analytical and technical aptitude with focus on identify and alleviating the root cause of the issue; solves the whole problem.
o Proven ability to thrive and respond to frequent demands of multiple constituents, both internal and external, in a customer centric manner and high demand environment.
o Preferred professional certifications in both networking and security include; FCNSP, CCNP, CISSP, SSCP, CEH, GIAC, Security +, OSCP.
o Degree in IT Security, Networking, Computer Science, or similar fields is preferred. However, extensive work experience is also taken into consideration as well, in. lieu of this requirement.
o 10+ years with focused experience in the arena of network security.
o Minimum of 5 years of experience with Cisco ASA (Palo Alto is also preferred).
o Excellent communication skills and experience working in a collaborative environment.
