Scrum Master
Carrollton, Texas
3 months – 1 year consulting engagement

IMMEDIATE new opening for a Scrum Master based at our client’s HQ’s in Carrollton, Texas. This role will be responsible to lead Agile events, standups, retros, and more!

Responsibilities:
o Serve as a servant leader to the team
o Lead Agile events, stand ups, retros, etc.
o Ensure project teams adhere to Agile values and practices, including but not limited to updating and closing tickets in a timely manner
o Work with product owners to define and prioritize features and defects
o Manage team dependencies, understand impediments and escalations and drive to resolution
o Coordinate with external team (e.g. architects) on dependent deliverables, clearly articulating those dependencies and constraints
o Work with external team to develop solid delivery plan and stay informed on progress, raising risks/issues when warranted
o Preemptively identify red flags and identify patterns
o Assist in release management, pulling together release manifest and attendance on deployment calls
o Drive decisions and resolutions, documenting and communicating in a timely manner
o Maintain scrum artifacts and reporting progress and status in a succinct manner
o Provide transparency to other teams, Product Owner(s), management and leadership
o Serve as the principal communicator on all events in partnership with Product Owner
o Help the team build quality into the software and delivery
o Analyze team’s agile performance and health. Promote small incremental improvements, supporting team in their ideas of how can improve
o Contribute to continuous improvement of the team by participating and leading retrospectives, sharing observations, and ideas for improvement
o Able to motivate and push development team to stretch and improve delivery

Required Skills:
o Certified Scrum Master
o Four year Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Communications, Engineering, or Business
o 3-5 years’ experience managing delivery of complex architecture and core systems
o 3-5 years’ experience as a Scrum Master leading customer-facing software development projects
o 3-5 years’ experience in project management leading multiple, simultaneous projects across cross-functional teams
o 3+ years’ experience with the Agile methodology, specifically Scrum, SAFe, Scaled Agile, or Kanban
o 4-6 years of prior experience in applying proven project management methodologies to large mission critical projects
o Experience working in a highly matrixed organization
o Strong working knowledge leading Agile Scrum, Kanban, or Scaled Agile
o Strong communication and collaboration, ability to use collaboration tools such as WebEx
o Experience in Agile project management tools such as JIRA & Confluence
o Experience leading projects with an onshore/offshore team model
o Experience overseeing large multi-functional project teams of 10+ people per team
o Experience leading multiple projects (2-4) concurrently
o Experience leading highly visible projects that impact revenue and are customer-facing
o Demonstrated ability to resolve team conflicts, remove roadblocks and communicate appropriately to ensure a team's success
o Strong accountability, project planning/organization, teamwork, communication, conflict resolution skills
o Ability to inspect and adapt the way the team works to continuously improve
o Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and rally teams
o Demonstrated experience managing large projects with multiple work streams in various stages of development
o Knowledge of SDLC and demonstrated experience employing SDLC in aspects of the project management process
