Sr. ServiceNow Engineer


Location: Coppell, Texas


Immediate new job opening for a Sr. ServiceNow Engineer to join our client at their corporate headquarters in Coppell, TX.  The ITSM Engineer will serve as the SME for the ServiceNow platform and will provide expert level support and technical mentoring to users. This role will be a hands-on role working as an:  developer, engineer, administrator, and support for the ServiceNow platform. This position communicates within the team and across all stakeholders, achieving consensus using fact-based analysis and driving disciplined execution. This role reports to the Manager of IT Operations.


o Assists in the development of information system strategies and IT Service Management platform (ITSM)

o Proactively identifies areas for improvement for ITSM and initiates the appropriate action

o Develops and documents procedures and standards and identifies where procedures are not aligned with Audit controls

o Provides tiered ServiceNow application support for end users and troubleshoots technical problems such as application performance issues

o Gathers and reports on platform metrics in order to identify trends that warrant attention

o Works with vendors to deliver updates, resolve issues, and manage the product lifecycles

o Researches and designs ITSM service standards

o Connects ServiceNow with other platforms via APIs

o Design and develop / configure workflows, forms, scripts and underlying logic using SCRUM / Agile methodologies

o Perform and support ServiceNow upgrades.

o Mentor and train business partners to enable self-service of ServiceNow features.

o Consults with business analyst/project manager to develop appropriate technical solutions which involve ITSM processes

o Advises on options, risk and impacts on business processes and technical architecture

o Communicates technical problems and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences

o Consistently arrives promptly to work the assigned schedule

o Maintains discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information

o Performs other requested tasks and duties


Required Skills:

o 8 or more years of experience in technology with 5 or more years of experience with ServiceNow administration and engineering/development work

o College degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Business Administration or related field or equivalent related work experience required

o ITIL certifications and ServiceNow certifications

o Proven record in successfully delivering large, enterprise scale ITSM capabilities and driving service management platform strategy for an enterprise

o Working knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, CSS, HTML5, relational databases and SQL, and web-based architecture

o ServiceNow development processes experience and architecture would be a plus
