UI Designer
1 Year+ Consulting Engagement
Location: Dallas, TX or Glendale, CA

We have an IMMEDIATE new job opening for an UI Designer to work on-site at our client who is an industry leader in their field; this role can be located at their Dallas, TX headquarters or Glendale, CA office. We are looking for a strong User Interface Designer with an outstanding portfolio and at least 2 years of experience designing for TV, web and mobile. You should have a passion for designing interfaces with a customer-centric focus, you are driven by an inquisitive curiosity to learn, and can pick up new knowledge and skills independently. You must be ambitious, energetic, hungry and crave responsibility. You will continually monitor market trends and standards to evolve our client's product ethos with extraordinary precision. Experience in designing for TV interfaces will be highly valued.
The UI Designer will partner closely with the Product team to imagine and create beautiful and functional visual experiences. The ideal candidate should understand the difference between UX and UI design, and have a creative yet organized approach to tackling problems and creating solutions. They'll bring polish to our visual design efforts and work hard to delight our customers.
In this role, you will leverage Design Thinking / Lean UX and other tools and methodologies to find customer needs and rapidly test, learn, refine, and launch. You are a passionate advocate for cross-platform design that aligns the physical (i.e., the remote control) with various digital formats (i.e., TV and mobile).
Ultimately, you will design immersive experiences that balance consistency across our brands and geographies with appropriate differentiation to accommodate specialized brand or regional opportunities and constraints.
Individuals must have the ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, over the phone or video. This position must be able to influence and motivate team members to achieve a common goal by being creative, metrics focused, thoughtful, organized, and decisive.
This role requires a sound business acumen, a holistic understanding of user experience design practices, and most importantly, a passion to create amazing experiences.

o Design and create user flows, prototypes, sketches and high-fidelity mockups.
o Collaborate with UX designers to determine product specifications and execute design work with a high level of polish.
o Define style guide leveraging previous Product Design work to represent our brand with a holistic consideration for our product's future.
o Create asset and spec across platforms: TV, Mobile and Web.
o Collaborate closely with cross-disciplinary teams of Engineering, Marketing, and Brand on regular basis.
o Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
o Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.
o Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.
o Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
o Ask smart questions, take risks and champion new ideas.

Required Skills:
o Minimum 2 years of experience as a UI designer. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments including TV.
o A strong understanding of user-centered design, responsive design, mobile first design, and web standards.
o Thorough understanding of layout, typography and visual hierarchy.
o Experience using design tools such as Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, InVision, Abstract.
o A solid grasp of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.
o Ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.
o Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to the team.
o A clear understanding of the importance of user-centered design and design thinking.
o Ability to work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications.
o Abilty to work productively with partners and stakeholders that are remotely located across the US.
o Be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders via a distributed model, to regularly deliver design solutions for approval.
o Be passionate about resolving user pain points through great design.
o Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.
o Be passionate about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation.
o Research and showcase knowledge in the industry's latest trends and technologies.
o BA/BS/Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
o Portfolio required.
o TV content/user experience design - preferred
